What is "Self-Paced"? The Self-Paced format is an optional format that can be selected for only elective courses. In this format, you have one year from the date that you order the course to study the material (book), select a protor & test date, order the exam, take the exam, and have your proctor return the exam to the IAEE office. No instructor or fellow students are assigned to a 'class' in this format. You simply are sent the module (book) and will study on your own. There is no online component with this format. It is highly suggest that you select this format when (a) it is NOT your first CEM course, and (b) the course is a topic that you are at least somewhat familiar with (the more familiar, the better). There are six courses available under the Self-Paced Learning Program, which are the elective* courses you can take toward CEM designation credit: - Housing & Transportation
- Developing an RFP & Outsourcing
- Show Development
- Developing an Exhibitor Prospectus
- Crisis Management
- Basic Conference & Meeting Management**
*A total of two CEM Elective courses are required to obtain the designation. **Those holding a current CMP designation receive automatic credit for this course. The cost is $215 per module for members and $350 for non-members. The cost of the exam fee is included. Candidates have one year from the date of the course to take and PASS the corresponding CEM examination. Only one re-take is allowed per exam, per course. Click here to download the CEM Self Paced Learning Program Form FYI - Once you fax or email in the form, the IAEE Accounting Deparment will need approximately 24-48 hours to process your payment. Your request is then processed by the Education Department which can take up to 3-4 business days. Finally,it takes approximately 7-10 to get the module AFTER processing when using the regular first class USPS mail option.
