IAEE > CEM > CEM Exam Process

THERE WILL BE A "HOLD" ON ALL EXAM FORMS FROM 1 NOVEMBER 2008 THRU 2 JANUARY 2008  DUE TO EXPO!EXPO! 2008 AND THE HOLIDAYS.

12/15/2008 UPDATE: ONLINE TESTING WILL BE COMING IN MAY 2009!! Please keep an eye out for more info!!

AS OF 1 January 2009, all exams must be taken within 90 days of a CEM course (Includes ALL FORMATS).
Testing Procedures for CEM Exams

CEM Candidates have up to one (1) year from the date of the registered CEM Course to take and pass the corresponding exam toward CEM designation credit.

ALL CEM exams are administered in person, whether at the conclusion of an On-Location course, during a designated testing time at an IAEE Meeting or through a proctor* in the candidate's local area.

Testing with a Proctor

Candidates may have their exam proctored locally. We prefer that the proctor be a CEM in your local area.

If no current CEM is available, the candidate is able to have someone from the Human Resources (HR) Department of their office proctor the exam for you.  However, the HR proctor cannot be someone who reports directly to the candidate OR someone that the candidate reports to directly.

If neither of the above is an option, the candidate may test during a designated testing time at an upcoming IAEE meeting such as the PDC or Expo! Expo! IAEE's Annual Meeting & Exhibition. To view the current list of CEM On-Location courses, please visit the CEM portion of the IAEE website at www.iaee.com/cem.

To request a CEM Exam be sent to a proctor, the candidate must complete a CEM Exam Request Form and fax it to the IAEE Education Department at +1 (972) 458-8119. Click here to download the CEM Exam Request Form. THERE WILL BE A "HOLD" ON ALL EXAM FORMS FROM 1 NOVEMBER 2008 THRU 2 JANUARY 2008  DUE TO EXPO!EXPO! 2008 AND THE HOLIDAYS.

Once this request form is received by the IAEE Education Department, the exam will be mailed directly to the proctor, complete with testing instructions, within 10 business days.  Express mailing is also available for an additional fee.

Re-Take a CEM Exam

Each CEM Candidate is allowed one (1) exam re-take per CEM course within one (1) year following the date of the registered CEM course.

The fee to re-take a CEM Exam is $25.00.

A CEM Exam Re-take Registration form must be completed by the candidate and submitted to the IAEE Education Department. If the re-take exam is not passed, it is a CEM Learning Program requirement that the candidate register for the course a second time, attend and pass the required exam in order to proceed in working towards the CEM designation.  To download a form click here.  THERE WILL BE A "HOLD" ON ALL EXAM FORMS FROM 1 NOVEMBER 2008 THRU 2 JANUARY 2008  DUE TO EXPO!EXPO! 2008 AND THE HOLIDAYS.
